Job Title: Casual Box Office Assistant
Job Purpose
To provide excellent customer service to Jersey Opera House audiences, supporting ticket sales and customer enquiries across the Box Office.
Casual Box Office Assistants will work flexibly to support the theatre's performance schedule, helping ensure customers receive a friendly, efficient and professional service whether booking in person, by telephone or contacting the Box Office by email.
Key Responsibilities
- Process ticket sales, reservations and other transactions accurately using the theatre's ticketing system.
- Assist customers with ticketing, seating, membership and general performance enquiries.
- Provide clear and accurate information about performances, ticket prices, accessibility and Jersey Opera House policies.
- Respond to telephone, email and in-person enquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
- Process card and cash payments accurately and securely.
- Support customers with access requirements and ensure relevant information is recorded correctly.
- Follow agreed procedures for exchanges, refunds, reservations and other ticketing requests, referring queries to the Box Office Supervisor where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate customer information and handle personal data securely and confidentially.
- Keep up to date with the theatre's programme, promotions and relevant customer information.
- Work collaboratively with the Communications team, Front of House team and other colleagues to provide an excellent customer experience.
- Follow Jersey Opera House policies and procedures at all times.

Desirable
- Previous experience in a customer service, Box Office, retail, hospitality or similar environment.
- Experience using a ticketing, booking or till system.
- An interest in theatre, live performance or the arts.

Hours of Work
This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours. Shifts will be offered according to Jersey Opera House's Box Office, performance and event requirements and may include daytime, evening, weekend and public holiday working.
