Facility Maintenance Coordinator
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Jersey Opera House
Contract Type: Part-time
Hours: 25 hours per week, 7-12pm Monday to Friday with flexibility to include out of hours and weekend work due to shows and events.
Job Purpose:
The Facility Maintenance Coordinator shall be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across the premises. To perform maintenance, repair, and custodial duties related to the building and equipment.
Supervision:
The Facility Maintenance Coordinator will be line management and oversight of the cleaning staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Building repair and maintenance required in consultation with the Technical Manager & Operations Manager
Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties relative to building maintenance
Coordinates and assists other trades people as appropriate
To use power and hand tools as necessary to performing the assigned tasks
In conjunction with the Technical Manager, coordinate work orders for building repairs and general building issues
Acquires quotations and coordinates ordering for caretaking supplies and equipment
Assist Operations Manager in setting up stores, training for custodial staff, and developing systems and protocols related to building repair and maintenance
Perform general duties including sweeping, mopping, changing light bulbs
Ensure all areas are cleaned to a high standard and meet hygiene requirements including staff kitchen
Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with site procedures
Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels when needed
Maintain cleaning equipment and report any faults or damage
Assist Operations Manager set up equipment for events when necessary
Follow health and safety guidelines, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals
Respond to urgent cleaning requests as needed
Person Specification:
Essential:
Previous experience in a facility maintenance-related role (preferred but not required)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good attention to detail
Reliable and punctual
Competent in the care and use of tools and equipment common to this work
Understanding of health and safety practices
Possess a demonstrated ability to organise multiple tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines and work under time constraints
Flexible, and adaptable to change
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people in a courteous and tactful manner
Basic knowledge in the use of computers, this will be standard use of emails, spreadsheet and word documents
Desirable:
Knowledge of COSHH regulations
Experience working under H&S regulations in a similar environment
Experience using industrial cleaning equipment
