Jersey Opera House Seeks Young Voices for Re-Opening Gala Choir

Audition

We're preparing to raise our curtain once again – and young performers across the island are invited to be part of the magic.

As part of our re-opening Gala this October, a new youth choir is being formed to perform a selection of songs in the production. The creative team – Director Nick Carver, Musical Director Luke Brown, and Choreographer Victoria Hermitage – will lead the project, which marks an important moment in the theatre’s return to Jersey’s cultural scene.

Auditions will take place on Sunday 27 July and are open to all young people in full-time education, from school years 3 to 13. Choir members must be available to perform on 3, 4, and 5 October 2025, as well as attend all key rehearsals.

Audition places are strictly limited. Sessions will run throughout the day at the following times: 09:45, 10:45, 11:45, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30, and 16:30. Each audition will last approximately 75 minutes.

Parents or guardians wishing to register a young person should email [email protected], stating their preferred time slot. Places will be confirmed by reply, subject to availability.

Once a place is confirmed, participants will receive full audition details, including sheet music for the audition song, a rehearsal schedule, and a personal details form.

Don’t miss the chance to be part of this historic moment and sing on the Opera House stage!
