Jack and the Beanstalk

Get ready for a Christmas adventure like no other as Jack and the Beanstalk takes over Jersey Opera House for our first fully professional pantomime.

Follow Jack on a magical journey up the beanstalk and into the clouds, where adventure awaits and anything can happen.

Jersey's own JOSS J. MacDONALD will star as Jack, alongside fellow Islander, NAIYA ROMAO as Fairy Sugarsnap. They are joined by an Evolution pantomime star GEORGE AKID, West End sensation JACK WHITTLE, LAUREN LANE, and LUKE DREWELL and a fabulous ensemble cast.

The show will be written by Paul Hendy and produced by the award winning Evolution Productions, the same team that has won 'Pantomime of the Year' in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2025 at the UK Pantomime Awards. Jack and the Beanstalk promises to be top-quality, hilarious, 5-star family entertainment, packed with laugh-out-loud thrills, stunning costumes, lavish sets and fabulous music.

Accessible Performance Information:

BSL Interpreted Performance – Tuesday 22 December 7pm

For the BSL interpreted performance, Andrew Higgins, a British Sign Language interpreter will translate the spoken dialogue, songs and key elements of the production live for D/deaf and BSL-using audience members.

Andrew will be positioned so that customers booking the designated seating area can clearly see both the interpretation and the action taking place on stage.

The performance will enable BSL users to experience the story, jokes, songs and atmosphere of this magical pantomime.

Audio Described Performance – Tuesday 29 December 2pm & 7pm

The Audio Described performances will support blind and visually impaired audience members by providing live verbal descriptions of the production.

Through a headset, customers will hear descriptions by Audio Describer Clare Le May, helping to communicate elements such as characters, costumes, movement, scenery and visual action.

Ahead of the Audio Described performance, a Touch Tour will also be available, giving blind and visually impaired audience members the opportunity to familiarise themselves with elements of the production before the show, including selected props, costumes and parts of the set. 

Relaxed Performance - Sunday 3 January 1pm

This performance is designed to create a more relaxed and supportive environment for those who may benefit from a less formal theatre experience, including neuro-divergent audiences, those with sensory sensitivities, learning disabilities, Dementia or anyone who would feel more comfortable in a more flexible setting. 

Adjustments will include softer lighting and sound levels, an open-door policy allowing audience members to move in and out of the auditorium, and a relaxed attitude to noise and movement within the space.
