Walkers supports powerful Theatre Re production at Jersey Opera House

The Nature of Forgetting Landscape Title Stars

Jersey, Channel Islands — Wednesday 26 August 2026 — Law firm Walkers has been announced as sponsor of Theatre Re’s internationally acclaimed production, The Nature of Forgetting, which comes to Jersey Opera House from 13–15 October 2026.

Exploring memory, identity and the things that make us who we are, The Nature of Forgetting is a powerful piece of physical theatre combining movement and live music to tell the story of Tom, a 55-year-old man living with early onset dementia.

Created by Theatre Re, the production explores the fragility of memory and the enduring nature of human connection, taking audiences on an emotional journey through Tom’s life as fragments of his past begin to emerge.

The sponsorship from Walkers supports Jersey Opera House in bringing ambitious and thought-provoking professional theatre to Island audiences as part of its commitment to presenting a broad and diverse cultural programme.

Sebastian Warrack, CEO of Jersey Opera House, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to Walkers for their support of The Nature of Forgetting. This is exactly the kind of work we want audiences to be able to experience at Jersey Opera House – exceptional theatre that not only entertains, but has the ability to start conversations, create connections and stay with you long after the performance has ended.

“Partnerships with organisations across our Island are hugely important to the future of Jersey Opera House. They enable us to be ambitious with our programme and help ensure that Jersey audiences have access to outstanding work from companies such as Theatre Re without having to travel off-Island to experience it.”

James Turnbull, Partner in Walkers’ Jersey office and CSR committee member, said:

“We are committed to supporting initiatives that make a positive contribution to Island life, and this production is particularly meaningful to us given our long-standing support of Dementia Jersey as our chosen charity. The Nature of Forgetting offers a powerful exploration of memory, dementia and human connection, and we are pleased to support Jersey Opera House in bringing this important conversation to audiences across the Island.”

Alongside its public performances, The Nature of Forgetting will also provide an opportunity for young people in Jersey to experience professional theatre, with a dedicated schools performance and Q&A taking place during the run.

The production comes to Jersey following performances for audiences internationally and forms part of Jersey Opera House’s growing programme of theatre, music, comedy, dance, family entertainment and community activity.

The Nature of Forgetting runs at Jersey Opera House from 13–15 October 2026.
