The Liberation Vocal Consort conducted by Graham Caldbeck perform an enlightening and reflective choral programme evoking Liberation sentiments – the faith and hope needed during the dark times before turning to forgiveness, reconciliation, celebration & reflection.
We salute Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday year, in music drawn from each of the two Elizabethan ages – from the time of the building of Elizabeth Castle in the 1590s to a work composed in 2005. The 400th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare, born during Elizabeth I’s reign, is commemorated in settings of his words made during the reign of the present Queen.
This unique and ultimately joyful programme will be one of the choral highlights of the year, consisting of works by Tallis, Byrd, Vaughan Williams, Walton, Philip Moore, Matthew Harris, Vyautas Miškinis and Bob Chilcott.
